Terms of Service
Last updated 16 October 2026 · Questions: hello@flakepot.com
These terms govern your use of FlakePot (flakepot.com and the FlakePot web app), operated by FlakePot (“FlakePot”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, joining a plan as a guest or buying anything, you agree to them.
1. What FlakePot is
FlakePot is a planning and attendance tool. Organizers create plans, members commit to attend, and the app records who checked in, who was late and who missed the plan. Plans can include a “flake fee”: a commitment deposit the group agrees on.
2. Deposits are private arrangements between users
FlakePot never receives, holds, transfers or controls any deposit, flake fee, refund or pot money. When you send a deposit, you send it directly to the organizer through your own payment app or bank (for example PayPal, Revolut, Wise, Venmo, Cash App, Monzo, UPI, GCash or a bank transfer). Refunds and shares of the pot are sent directly by the organizer to members the same way.
- Deposits are a private agreement between you and the people in your plan. FlakePot is not a party to that agreement.
- FlakePot only records claims (“I sent it”, “Received”) and calculates suggested refunds from the plan's rules. These records are informational.
- We are not a bank, payment service, escrow agent or money transmitter, and we cannot reverse, recover or guarantee any payment between users.
- Any dispute about a deposit or refund is between the users involved. You are responsible for any fees charged by your payment provider.
- Outcomes are decided by attendance (GPS check-in, vouches from other members, group photos) and member votes on excuses, never by chance.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use FlakePot.
- You can sign in with an email link or Google, or join a plan as a guest with a name and email. Guests can claim a full account later.
- Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can open your sign-in links can access your FlakePot account.
- Give accurate information and don't impersonate anyone.
4. Your conduct
You agree not to:
- harass, bully or threaten anyone, including through share cards, excuses or photos;
- upload photos of people who haven't agreed to be in them, or any illegal, sexual or violent content;
- fake your location, create fake accounts or vouches, or otherwise manipulate check-ins or votes;
- use FlakePot to collect money for anything other than a genuine attendance commitment between people who know each other;
- scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the service.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. You can report users and photos from inside the app.
5. Share cards and public scores
Your reliability score, badges and profile are visible to other users. Plan outcomes are visible only to people who were in the plan. Members of a plan can create share cards (such as a Wall of Shame card) about that plan's outcome. Keep it playful: cards are meant as friendly banter, not to humiliate anyone.
6. Paid features
FlakePot sells digital software features only: Pardons, Pardon 3-packs, Big Plan passes, Card theme packs and the Host subscription. See Pricing. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.
- Host subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- A Pardon changes your FlakePot reliability score and card design only. It does not change any deposit or refund between users.
- Refunds of digital purchases are covered by our Refund Policy (14 days).
7. Location, photos and notifications
Check-in uses your device's location only when you tap to check in. Photos you upload are visible to members of that plan. You can turn notifications on or off in Settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep FlakePot running, but it is provided “as is” and may sometimes be unavailable, inaccurate (for example GPS errors) or change. We may update these terms; if a change is material we'll let you know in the app or by email before it applies.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, FlakePot is not liable for any loss arising from payments or agreements between users, missed plans, incorrect check-ins, or content posted by users. Our total liability to you for anything else is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings (once any refunds you owe are settled). We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
